Please migrate to GitHub/CMake

Ivano Arrighetta-4
Hello there.
My name is Ivano Arrighetta and I'm Italian.
I would like to suggest to migrate to GitHub for version control, and to
use CMake for creating build projects for Windows and Mac OS, other than
Makefiles for *nix.
GitHub also offers a WebSite builder and a Wiki for each repository,
other than an issue tracker.

I'm pretty sure everyone would benefit from this.

Bye, Ivano.

You've posted a nearly identical message to the gimp-developer mailing list as
well. Just for the record, Inkscape already can be built using cmake (from
version 0.91 IIRC), and a transition of the version control to git and GitLab
(hopefully with some support for GitHub workflows) is currently planned. GIMP
already uses git as its VCS and you can set up clones and forks for it on
GitHub/etc.

Emacs is a nice operating system, but what it lacks, in order to compete with
Linux, is a good text editor.
